Summer Staple Swap

During June, I participated in a blogger's gift swap for the first time! Getting packages in the mail is an increasing rarity these days, and it was fun receiving and opening my package, which, I believe came from This Girl in Glasses.

Pedicures are exactly what I think of when I think summer (read: the at-home kind, not the kind you have to pay for!), so the pedicure kit and nail polish were awesome! Honestly, I wasn't too excited about the headbands at first--stretchy headbands are not the best look with short, crazy curly hair like mine. However, due to the insane heat wave that we've been having, I've been wearing these headbands almost constantly when I'm inside the house, because it's the best way to keep my hair off of my face and neck! Who knew they would come in so useful? Thank you!

I didn't get too creative with my gift for Jenna at I Never Really Told You, but I Meant to. Sunscreen is very important in the summer for white girls like me, and I thought Jenna might appreciate some too. I didn't get a picture of what I sent, but it was a typical bottle of mineral-based sunscreen. My husband has me convinced that it's highly superior to chemical sunscreens, so I got that, even though I had to search through about 100 bottles of chemical sunscreens to find 1 that was mineral-based!

Thank you, Jenna, for organizing this swap! I had fun, and I hope that you get some use out of the sunscreen this summer. If any of you readers haven't checked out her blog yet, you should! I especially love her glasses.

That's why I got you the headbands just because of the heat. I figured if you go to the pool or somewhere with water it would be the best way to push things back! I know I like them when I'm super hot! But then again I understand with hair types - my hair is funny and clips don't stay in well. So I'm glad it worked out!
I do hope you like it - Tried my best and these are little essentials best for summer for me anyways!
