Angel and I don't like to relax on vacation. Actually, it's more like, it's impossible for me to relax because relaxation is right next to boredom and boredom is next to death--so Angel gets dragged along into all of my adventures because we're "stuck like glue."
Although, I did bring six books on the vacation we took last week so that I could let him sleep for a while every day while I was occupied with reading. We have a good system. :)
Here's a few of our most interesting adventures this vacation...
1. We got mistaken for honeymooners by the innkeepers at our bed and breakfast! That made Angel a bit nervous.
But who could blame them when we were acting like this?
2. Met a celebrity. Didn't get his autograph though. :(
3. Visited Angel's favorite restaurant (which doesn't even exist in any regularly reachable part of our state, so it is a big deal for him). I so do not understand his attraction to this place, but I just smile and eat a sandwich from Subway.
4. Touched little sharks at the zoo. I was seriously smiling non-stop for a long time after this, even though I had kept my arm in the water so long that it had turned into a piece of ice. Apparently these sharks prefer cold water.
5. Had a slight accident. We were innocently driving down the interstate when a flying brick crashed into our car. So now we have to get a new fender. We're so thankful--the accident or repair work needed could have been so much worse if the brick had hit somewhere else.
6. We saw an exceptionally large spoon.
7. We hit the jackpot! At an arcade Wheel of Fortune. We have a system: Angel spins the wheel, and I choose the letters. It worked this time! 1405 tickets. We were the celebrities of the arcade while we stood around for ten minutes waiting for all the tickets to come out of the machine. Everyone was gathering around and asking how we did it. Of course, there's no way anyone else can copy our magic system.
8. I discovered my new favorite store! Well, actually Angel spotted it from across the hallway at Mall of America and recognized it as the store for me: Bettie Page. And now he says it's a good thing that their closest store is in Minnesota so we'd have to drive nine hours for a shopping trip. And, unfortunately, I discovered that a lot of their XS sizes run a little too large for me, but not all of them! I'm so happy that I finally got my birthday dress? Remember the sad story about the Banana Republic dress that Angel bought but had to return because it was too big? Now it has a happy ending.
And you can so tell that I'd just taken off my glasses for the picture--I look exceptionally blind.
It looks like you had a really good trip Rachel and that dress looks amazing on you :)
