I love getting to know a little bit more about my readers, so once a week I like to go around the circle and ask everyone to answer the same question (you know, like they did in youth group back in the day!). I'll go first, to break the ice!
Today's question: What do you collect?
I know this one is going to sound a little weird. I'm really not big on collecting specific things. I think I've moved too often in my life...so I don't tend to see accumulation of stuff as something desirable, because someday, it'll just be more stuff to pack in boxes and move. However, when Angel and I moved into our house, we found this poster board hanging on the wall. We immediately decided to take up the challenge to collect quarters from all the states and fill in all the empty spaces on the board.
Yes, we know this was rather late in the game, as I believe the first state quarters came out around the year 2000...but hey, you don't always have to do something just because it's in fashion at the time.
As you can see, we have almost finished our collection--we only have South Dakota and Kansas left. We've been missing just those two quarters for months now, and although we eagerly look at the backs of all quarters we run across...we have not managed to find either South Dakota or Kansas. About a week ago, I got a North Dakota quarter in change and I was all excited because I thought that was the state we needed, but I was mistaken. Hopefully someday we will find our missing two quarters and finish the collection....in the meantime, is there anything you collect?
hmmm... not unless books count! I have collected 1st editions of the Elsie Dinsmore series, which is 28 books, plus i have a few double ups. :) That took me a year or two to save and buy from the US on eBay! :) other than that... I'm unofficially thinking of starting a quilt collection - made, found and bought. Just because they're pretty.
But I'm not really the 'collecting' type...! :D Too many books on my shelves for anything else!
I like to collect wine glasses, i try to get one from everywhere i travel!

I know it sounds weird, but I collect wine corks! I save them all up in a little decorative barrel that my hubby gave me!
I collect pop tops! I put them in a fish bowl and have been trying to fill it up for years
I used to collect the state quarters! That's awesome! I love collecting the pressed pennies at different places I go, I have a ton! I don't know what I want to do with them, or how the should be displayed yet.
I don't collect anything...how sad is that!? I used to collect Japanese stamps when I was a kid, I had a pen pal over there...but these days...nope. Don't really have any collections :-/
What a fun thing to collect together!
Currently, we don't collect anything . . . except dog hair . . . good grief, the hair EVERYWHERE. Doesn't matter how much I vaccuum, brush, wash, or wipe, it's just everywhere. *sigh*
As a kid, though, I LOVED collecting pretty rocks and sea shells. I still have my old collection and like to bring out the shinies now and again.
My dad collects the state quarters and pennies by year :] Or he used to . . . I think he still might, or else he's filled up those little booklets.
I used to collect the state quarters too. I had my map filled in almost, w all the ones that had come out, but that was like 4 years ago! I live in Kansas - if I come across a Kansas quarter I'll let you know! :)
I have the state quarter collection but that's because my grandfather completed collection for all of his grandchildren. I love to collect anything fairy related.
I don't really collect anything. I do have a book with all the state quarters in it because my dad got it for me for Christmas one year. I guess you could say I collect paper. I love paper.
Hi there! I'm a new follower from the blog hop and would love a follow back at www.sugarplumsandlollipops.blogspot.com Don't forget to follow me on twitter & Pinterest. I follow back all of my twitter & Pinterest followers :)
I'm not sure if we collect anything on purpose, but we tend to pick up a shot glass for every place we've visited! Oh, and MUGS. Lots and lots of coffee mugs!
I love this! I have always been fond of turtles. I am not big on knick knacks though, so they have to be kind of amazing. My mom sent me a wood carving of a turtle from Hawaii and that was pretty special. And the other thing I collect more than turtle things is BOXES. Wood ones, glass ones...etc. I love intricate details and the way the lid fits and something of importance goes inside...Hope you get your last two quarters!
Hi from the blog hop (:
I've never been big on collecting things either, until recently. I started collecting aprons, but even so I only have three lol. I also have one of these boards, but I never kept up with it to finish it. I don't even know where it is. I'm happy you're almost done with yours. How exciting.
Have a happy Wednesday!

Fun! If I see South Dakota or Kansas, I'll send them your way! when I was growing up, i collected hippos (all shapes and sizes) and napkins. I had people bringing me napkins from Australia and even Israel! My mom gave me napkins that she had at her wedding. :) now, both collections are sitting in my garage, and I'm trying to think of something to do with them. NOW, I guess I would claim to be collecting bakeware. :)
I used to collect paper dolls when I was younger. Lots and lots of paper dolls. Except I wasn't a very "good" collector because I just played with them.
Now I just hoard books.
