Too Tired

I've heard from everyone that cosmetology school is very tiring. I'm not sure if it's that, or the fact that I've been sick for a few weeks, but yesterday, when I got home from school, I was exhausted. My usual school day routine on the days Angel works is that when I get home from school at 5, I work on blogging for a while, and then for the last hour before Angel gets home, I make dinner and do some household chores.

Yesterday--I went to bed to take a nap as soon as I got home. And let me tell  you, I don't take naps. I don't like sleeping all that much. I like to go to bed before 10 and get a good night's rest on the average night, but I don't sleep for the fun of it. My mind is usually so busy that I can't fall asleep during the day even if I wanted to.

But yesterday, after falling asleep shortly after I arrived home, I was startled awake by the sound of Angel walking into the house and talking on the phone with his brother. I jumped out of bed, looked at the clock that  read 7:59, and ran past Angel to the other side of the house to check another clock. Which also read 7:59. "Oh no, I'm late for school!" I yelled--and was instantly trying to think of what I did need to do and what I didn't need to do before I could jump in the car and leave. Because, you see, I leave every day for school at about 8:05.

I ran past Angel to the bedroom to find some school clothes when he called to me, "Rachel, it's night." and then I heard him say something like, "I think Rachel was sleeping and now she thinks it's morning." to his brother on the phone. I came walking slowly out of the bedroom, asking, "Are you sure? You're not playing a trick on me? It really is nighttime?" He eventually convinced me.

Something else cosmetology school does to you.

I think if Angel hadn't been on the phone he would have found the situation much funnier. Apparently, he says he was also confused by the fact that my car was at home but all the lights were off in the house. He thought maybe someone had picked me up and taken me somewhere. Here is my reasoning for what happened. Angel worked night shift for more than a year of our marriage. I'm used to being woken up in the morning by the sound of him coming in the door. Now that he works days, I'm never sleeping when he comes home, so I think the fact that he woke me up coming home from work made me think it was morning. Plus, nowadays both 8 in the morning and 8 at night are dark outside, so you can't really tell whether the day is beginning or ending by the light.

But mostly what I guess you can learn from this is that I'm easily confused when I'm sleeping or have just woken up.

And it's hilarious.

This was a perfect start to my morning! :D

My brother did the same thing a while ago. I woke him up from a late afternoon nap, and he was completely shocked that I was awake at 5:30 in the morning! X)

Love you, Rachel! Have fabulous Saturday! :)

Haha! That happened to me once...I had been up late the night before and taken a nap. My mom came to wake me up for supper but I thought she was waking me up because it was time to go to church. After I showered and got dressed I found everyone eating dinner!

Waking up is confusing. :p

Too funny! That's part of why I don't like taking naps, I'm always disoriented the rest of the day!

I find waking up from naps to be pretty disorienting! I do remember my daughter, when she was about 4, falling asleep for the night and waking up a few hours later demanding breakfast when it was only like 10 pm or something!

Ayyy I hate having my brain confused like that. I remember sometimes I would wake up when I was younger and get ready for school, then go to tell my mum I was ready and see it was like 5am. Soooo annoying. I'm hosting a blog hop over at my blog today :-)

this is hilarious! but mostly because i can SO relate! my hubs is currently on night shift, and we have black out curtains so that he is able to sleep during the day... i find myself confused ALL the time and i am often in a slumber myself. although i do love a nap myself!
