Dating and Big News!!

A few days ago, I was listening to the radio on the way to school, and the topic of discussion was about how people sit when they go out for dinner. Specifically, the argument was over whether couples should sit on opposite sides of the table or whether they should sit on the same side of the table.

It seemed that it was almost a unanimous decision among the radio hosts and the people who called in that those who sit on the same side of the table when on a date are weird. One lady who called in to the show said that she was a waitress, and that she and her coworkers had a habit of making fun of the couples who chose to sit next to each other when they came into the restaurant.

Of course, I choose this as the time to confess: Angel and I always sit next to each other when we eat out, not across from each other. And he always sits on my right side, so that we don't bump elbows when eating, either. We have a system. And I like it. The waitresses can snicker all they want, but I'll just keep sitting next to my man.

Do you sit next to or opposite from your guy on dates? I have nothing against sitting on opposite sides of the table--we just started sitting on the same side from the very beginning and we've never seen a reason to change it up!

Brian and I just sit wherever. Sometimes I sit next to him and sometimes I sit across. I think it depends on how cuddly I'm feeling at the time!

And lol about the system! I'm left handed too so I definitely know what you are talking about.

Zack and I always sit next to each other without even thinking about it. I like being able to hold his hand :)

Congratulations! I'll definitely be checking out the magazine.

Matt and I sit across from each other but that's mostly because we usually have my 4 year old son with us when we go out and I sit next to my son to help him cut his food, etc. So when we do go out alone, it's just habit to sit across from each other. It works out though, it's easier to look each other in the eyes while we are talking this way and it's still easy to hold hands across the table.

Good luck with your new adventure. It sounds exciting.

We always sit across from each other because I don't like to turn my head all the time to look at him when I talk. If we are with other people we will sit next to each other.

bisous

Actually, my husband and I always sit next to each other. My husband is very affectionate like that and he was the one who started the whole "lets stick together, hip to hip, bum to bum" thing lol. however along the way, I got used to it and now if he doesnt sit next to me, I feel rejected and lonely! lol

Isaiah and I ALWAYS sit across from each other. I can't stand not being able to look at him when I'm eating! I find it hard to talk to someone that's next to me.

How funny!!! My financee and I were talking about this the other day. Personally we sit on opposite sides of the table. We started doing this even when we were dating. We just agreed that sitting next to each just wasn't our 'thang' lol. We always hit elbows and couldn't have conversations because I would end up dropping food on myself trying to look him in the eyes, stuffing my face, listening to him lol. But I think there is nothing wrong with sitting next to each other. Whatever works for your relationship is what you should stick with :)

Happy Friday!

we always sit across from each other at restaurants - don't you feel like it's hard to look at each other when talking? and how cool that you're writing for that magazine - congratulations!

Congrats! I had never sat next to a boyfriend before until I started dating my now husband. He sat next to me when we sat down to eat in a restaurant once and I said "what are you doing?" and he said he just wanted to sit next to me, which I thought was really sweet. So we used to do that a lot!

wow Congrats sweet girl:) so exciting! Can't wait to read more from you!! And Kev and I LOVE to sit next to each other at restaurants...mostly because i'm always cold and that seems to be warmer sitting next to one another, hehe!

Very cool, congrats! Will and I sit across from each other. The first time we went out to dinner alone together he tried to sit next to me. But I shoved him off. I like to look at my date when we talk and I've learned over the years that my husband is a space hog. But I do like the benefit of being able to cuddle when sitting on the same side.

I sit across from my husband, but it's more because he gets embarrassed, not me. I'm stopping in from the Saturday Morning Coffee Hop. Hope you will come check out my blog too. http://comebackmomma.com

That's so funny because last night my husband and I went to a new restaurant and for the first time we decided to sit on the same side of the table. Normally we sit on opposite sides, but honestly I think I liked it better. Especially in a large restaurant that us super loud. It was easier to have a conversation and easier to hear what he was saying. What a coincidence!

I found you on the saturday morning coffee blog hop :)

I am also a lefty. Go Team Southpaw! My boyfriend thinks it's weird to sit next to each other so we don't, but if I had my way, we'd sit next to each other even at home!

Congrats about the magazine! You are an awesome writer so I look forward to reading your work there too.

Is this where I leave a comment about the bracelet? I like the mustard chain and the water charm, although those are all fantastic causes. What a brilliant idea for charity and raising awareness!

We sit on opposite sides in booths, but next to each other at square tables, rather than across from each other. Congrats on the magazine!!!
