The Tragedy of my Favorite Pants

I don't normally lose things...but when I do, I lose them with vehemence.

This is not a fashion post, but I bet you can guess what all of these pictures have in common. It's kind of obvious.

My bright green jeans.

I love them. They are one of my favorite colors. They fit me perfectly (and you girls know how rare a pair of pants that actually fits well is!). And....I got them on clearance for $10.  They are my "neutral" jeans. As you can see, I wear them with everything.

And they are lost. I started noticing that I couldn't find them about a month ago. I was quickly trying to get dressed for something, and my ideal outfit required my green jeans. But they weren't to be found in my jean pile, so I replaced them with my purple jeans, thinking nothing of the incident. They were probably in the wash or something.

But I did the laundry, and they still didn't show up. A few more weeks went by, and I found a few more opportunities to wear them, but I still wasn't sure where they were. I knew I hadn't packed them to take them on a trip anywhere, so I was certain they must be somewhere in the house. Spring cleaning time came, and I went through all of the clothes in my closet and dresser. No green jeans. I went through all of Angel's clothes--you know, sometimes something of mine gets stuck in his side of the closet and isn't heard of for months. No green jeans. I looked under the bed, and behind the dresser. I even checked the refridgerator.

I learned as a young child to always check the refridgerator when something is lost. Either that or the toybox. We don't have a toybox, and there were no jeans in the refridgerator. I don't know where else to look.

Lately, I've been eyeing other women wearing bright green jeans with a bit of jealousy. It's not that I want their jeans--I just want my own back! At the Levi's Outlet store, I hugged a denim jacket made in precisely the same shade of green as my jeans, and dreamed of wearing the jacket at the same time as my jeans. But Angel thought it was a bad idea and didn't let me buy the jacket in my moment of despair. It was an awesome jacket.

I'm trying to keep some hope. Green jeans, if you're out there, somewhere, reading this, I beg of you, come home! If this was an experiment to see whether I would notice your absence, rest assured, I noticed, and I miss you dearly. If you have any information as to the whereabouts of my green jeans, please email me--any and all help is appreciated during this time of crisis.

Anyone have any suggestions about where I should look? I will keep you updated if and when I find them again!

oh no! did you check behind the dryer? When I'm missing something...uh, usually my sister took it. Maybe yours borrowed them?

I am so sorry for your loss! This does give you an excellent excuse to go shopping, though.

Devastating, it's so hard to find pants that fit well!

I lost my favorite jeans a few years ago. Perhaps they're having brunch with your green pants as we speak.

OH NO! that would make me crazy! I can't find a scarf right now and I'm SO upset about it...I have no idea where it is...ahh clothing return to us!

That's the worst! I hate losing clothing favorites. We're still trying to find my husband's favorite cardigan, so let me know if you find your jeans and I'll look in the same place for the cardigan. can you remember the last time your wore them? Maybe that will help you find them, like if you changed some place and left them, or went on a trip and brought them with you.

That is so frustrating! I hate when clothes up and disappear and you KNOW you didn't leave them somewhere outside the house!

Did you check behind the washer/dryer? That's usually where I lose stuff...

Maybe they took a little vacay and will back soon? I hope you find them. Lost is not gone, totally, so fingers crossed for you.

Oh no! Don't mean to rub it in, but they do look really cute on you. Right now I have the same situation with a black skirt. I keep wanted to wear that thing and simply cannot find it anywhere. But, erm, I did not check the fridge. Better go do that now!

Aww! Bummer! Sometimes I lose things and I don't even realize that I've lost them until I see an old picture of myself in it. But to lose a favorite pair of jeans?? That stinks! Maybe it's a good excuse to go shopping! ;) Found you at the Pleated Poppy linkup! You have a new follower!

I have lost some favorite clothes before. One was a cardigan that did magically show up a couple years later! I hope you find those hot jeans faster than I found my cardigan!

Oh no!! That's the worst. Could they have fallen behind something in the closet? Or behind the laundry machines? When was the last time you 100% sure remember wearing them?

Angel is playing a trick on you. That's my vote. Hide something of his and if it IS indeed him, your green pants will magically appear :)
p.s. - can you tell I'm playing catch up on reading your blog? hahaha.

O nos! Could they be trapped in a folded away blanket you washed? A different closet? I hope you find them they are an awesome color!

Argh! That's terrible! I would look under the bed... When things go missing at my place it's often under the bed, or spirited away by house elves.
