My only fast food weakness is Five Guys. Apparently, I'm human.
The Situation: In the dead of night, we hear an ominous sound. A crack, a rumble, a screech, something of that sort.
Her thoughts: Well, the house could be falling down. Or it could be a robber. Or a bat or a cricket inside the house, or the cats fighting. In the case of any of those, I really don't want to know, and I especially don't want to deal with such situations in the middle of the night so I'll just wrap up a little tighter in my blankets and close my eyes and go back to sleep.
His thoughts: Either the house is falling down, there's an intruder, or something is attacking my cats. I must do something to solve the problem!! *Jumps out of bed and runs out of the room, grabbing a flashlight on the way*
LOL. I'm the opposite-- I flee for the closet while Ben rushes to the door!
ReplyDeleteI poke my husband awake (he is a very heavy sleeper) if I hear more then one noise. He can't fall asleep again if woken up, so I always try to make sure it is a real emergency. Sadly, I didn't know that when we first got married and felt really bad about all the times I woke him up over a scary noise! :P
ReplyDeleteHaha I react the same way you do! If my husband is here, I'll shove him out of bed to check it out while I go back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteHaha... I'm definitely like you! I mean, ostriches don't confront their problems or potential danger and they've managed to survive, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that and I tend to think taking care of the "bad guys" is the man's job anyway - ha! Oh my, I think I'm having a Five Guys craving now. I typically only eat there when I'm pregnant, but I may have to break that rule tonight for supper! YUM-O!
ReplyDeleteWhat happens next? Don't leave us with such a cliff hanger!!
ReplyDeleteHaha too funny, I do the same thing! I figure, if a noise is any of the above, I should probably sleep through it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI just wish my husband woke up to those sounds in the night. If we ever had an intruder, I'd be sitting there pounding on him to wake him up and save me! lol
ReplyDeleteToo funny! If we had an intruder I would be SOL!!! I think we'd both sleep right through it! Thank goodness for our dog!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yep, sounds exactly right. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS think its an intruder. And I NEVER move.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds just about right! If I hear a sound I usually nudge my husband and ask him if he heard that and make him check it out! LOL!

ha ha ha! That's hilarious. I always hide and try to fall back asleep, because it's so tiring being scared!
ReplyDeleteWell at least he'll protect you. Usually it's me feeling the same way you are, but still a little concerned, so I wake up Hal who can sleep through anything to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteHaha yep, pretty much.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to try Five Guys, but from what my friends tell me it is welll worth it!
ReplyDeleteHaha and what happens next?
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day
Lenya
to be continued? lol. by the way, come see my new bloggy blog!
ReplyDeleteAnd the outcome?! Robber? Raccoon? Yeah I usually don't want to know, sometimes I even just get up and close the bedroom door so whatever it was won't come in the room while I'm trying to sleep!

ReplyDeleteI would totally jump to the absolute worst possible conclusion. And then I'd be too scared to go back to sleep, but also too scared to get out of bed and check on the sound. So I would spend the rest of the night scared and awake and confined to my bed until daylight.
ReplyDeleteNot that anything like that has ever happened or anything, of course... :)
Sounds about right with most guys. :)
ReplyDeletehehehehe, my husband is the kind of guy who doesn't wake up for anything and if I wake him up he just says everything is fine and goes back to sleep. But the girl reaction is totally mine LOL

My husband wouldn't wake up. It'd be me hitting him constantly saying, "honey, honey...did you hear that?" Then he'd be all, "What? No. Go back to sleep!"
ReplyDeleteAnd then I'd be laying there with my eyes wide open freaking out over every little noise until morning.
bisous

haha exact same thing for us!
ReplyDeleteFive guys! Mo and I approve.
ReplyDelete(and if it were us, Mo would probably ignore the noise and I'd still be asleep.)
Yeah, come on, you're going to leave us hanging?!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely the one to sleep through the night. I sleep through crazy thunderstorms. Jordan gets up and closes all the windows... if it were left up to me, we'd have some very wet furniture!
