Wearing Dresses

Never in my life before coming across this dress had I ever wanted to adhere to the shopping advice: "If you like it, buy one in every color." But I did love this dress so much I wanted to buy it in all four colors it came in: dark turquoise, mint, pink, and gray. However, that would be irresponsible, so I didn't. My little sister convinced me that mint was the one to choose. I still miss those other colors...

I'm doing the Skirtember challenge this month. In Michigan, this is the perfect time to do it. I see this as one last fling with all my skirts and dresses before the world freezes and they get packed away for months. In winter, my main priority in getting dressed is not freezing to death. I plan to wear a different dress or skirt every day, and I'll see if I can go without any repeats for the whole month. No guarantees on pictures of every single outfit, though. That could get excessive. And annoying.

A few other outfits from the previous week:

*The outfit with the blue polka-dot dress and grey polka-dot leggings was christened "The Chicken Pox Outfit" by Angel. Also, he hates that floor-length skirt nearly as much as he hates my high-waisted pencil skirt. And that's why I rarely wear it.... Thank you, Angel.

I just bought 2 shirts, exactly the same, in 2 different colors. When it works, it works!

The chicken pox outfit is my favorite. :P

I love the mint dress. I can see why you wanted more than one.

That long pink skirt is stunning! Sometimes I wonder about Angel's taste. Just sayin'.

I love that dress! I'm totally with ya- when you love something so much, you might as well buy it in different colors if you want! I definitely done that with comfy cotton shirts!!

Cheers!

I love the mint dress Rachel. It's totally darling. And the denim dress is another fav of mine. The chicken pox outfit looks great on you and I love the soft colored maxi skirt.
Have a lovely day.

What a fun challenge, but I'm pretty sure I don't own enough skirts or dresses to go an entire month without a repeat lol. I'd enjoy the challenge of changing each outfit up enough though to where you wouldn't really notice!

That is such a fun idea. I have started wearing skirts and dresses more outside of sundays. They just make you feel so good when you're wearing them. I'm excited to see you complete the challenge.

I so need to invest in some leggings! I have been thinking about snagging a pair to wear with some longer shirts this fall, but seeing all your cute dresses/skirts with leggings seals the deal. Love the outfits!

Cute dress! I recently found a pair of trousers that actually fit and I was going to buy them in every color they had - but they only had one! =( Lame.

Love your new blog design, by the way!

I went with that advice just recently but with shoes for work. They are just SO comfortable and cute at the same time that I bought at least four pair. They were also cheap, so I didn't really think twice, well maybe I did, but I got over it and my husband didn't seem to mind.

And I will add they were two different styles of shoes and at three different colors :)

I think the long skirt is beautiful!!

I also buy things in multiple colors if it's a great deal and something I love. Can never have too much of a good thing. :)

I wish I worked at a job where I could participate in Skirtember!

And that long skirt you're wearing? So pretty!

What a fun idea! Well, for you, not for me haha. I have to literally force myself wear a dress/skirt at least once a week.

Adorable! (All of them!) I need to draw some inspiration from how you pair shoes with your dresses and skirts. I especially like the 'chicken pox' ensemble.

Love the green dress! And I kind of want to hear the story behind the chicken pox naming! Where did that come from?

You look really good in dresses! I know what you mean about missing clothes that you wish you'd bought... oh the regret! I like Angel's name for your outfit - men can be so blunt sometimes :/

My favorite, besides the mint of course, is Angela's outfit he picked out. Angel has style - what can we say? Lol.

love the dress! Not sure I could have resisted the temptation to buy in multiple colours. Doing a Skirtember is a brilliant idea!!

Haha sometimes it's really hard for me to choose one color of an item I really love too. Decisions are hard! If only there was enough money to buy every color. I think mint was a great choice for this dress though. It looks adorable on you!
