The Crazy Cat Man

A lot of people have asked me to talk more about our cats.*

Narcan and Morphine are our 5th and 7th cat respectively. Let's not talk about the others. They spend their lives catching mice, staring at me through the window while I work on my computer, and continuing to come when Angel calls in spite of his weird treatment of them.

We call Narcan a snob, he's highly anti-social and runs away from children and my uncle, who feeds the cats when we're traveling. Morphine is significantly more friendly and much better at escaping indoors if given the opportunity. (Cue my brother, while cooking dinner at our house a few weeks ago: "Umm, why is there a cat in the house?")

Every day, Angel tells the cats, "Son los gatos mas bonitos de todo el mundo!!!" approximately 15 times. I'm actually pretty sure he tells the cats that they are the prettiest cats in the world more often than he tells me that I'm the prettiest woman in the world, and I think that perhaps that shows skewed priorities.

........................................................................................................
*Do you ever get that suspicious feeling when bloggers start off a post with, "I've received many requests for a post of this sort..." that maybe they haven't received any requests at all, and they are simply trying to justify writing a post of that type, or am I the only cynic out here? Well, this post is to prove that yes, sometimes bloggers do use the "A lot of people have asked me..." line as an intro, and there's not always any truth to it. Case #1: Me. No, no one's ever asked me to talk about the cats, but I did anyway.

  1. haha!! I often wonder that about bloggers....do people really ask them, or is it just a way to bring up the topic? !!

Isn't it awesome/funny how cats have their own, distinct personalities? Yours are so cute!

I am right there with you! And I am surprised Angel held the cats like that without getting clawed in the face.

If it makes you feel better, you're way prettier than the kitties!

  4. Haha! I'm glad you talked about your cats. I sometimes do a post about our cat, Dorian (Gray). I spend a lot of time at home alone since I study and the boyfriend works. It's Dorian that often provides my entertainment for the day so I can relate to Angel's cat fondness. :)

  6. My cat would murder me if I tried to hold her like that. She doesn't like being held unless it's on her terms.

  7. haha I do get that feeling with bloggers sometimes. I would have never known if you hadn't pointed it out though, but the thought did cross my mind... who asked her about her cats? lol Honestly, I didn't even realize y'all had cats! I have 6 cats. It's ridiculous!

  8. Aw your cats are adorable! I love their names. And...I think it's funny how you say "escape indoors." Our cat NEVER goes outside unless we're feeling generous and allow him on the front porch for a minute or two. ;)

  9. Haha these pictures are so cute. Los gatos...makes me think of a song we sang in school or something...I too wonder when people say that. Although, I said that we were going to Alabama like everyone had been asking, but bloggers really did ask! ;)

  10. Lol, I have definitely wondered about the "a lot of people have asked me..." intro. I love that you proved the theory correct! And your cats look so adorable and cuddly! Our parents have the meanest most horrible and vicious cat ever, and seeing sweet kitties like this renews my faith in cats. Haha.

  12. Daw!! I love kitties!!! Yours are both adorable. My husband is a cat man too! I'm allergic, but I can't resist when our cat comes and sits on my lap. Or steals my chair. Or my pillow. Or drinks my water. So I deal with the sneezing :P

  16. Is it weird that people have actually asked about my dogs? Weirdly as obsessed with them as I am IRL I rarely talk about them on my blog!

  17. Aww, crazy cat man. haha. We had cats but they were the devil so we left them with our ex-roommate when we moved out. (Thank God.) Where did you come up with the names Narcan and Morphine?! I know what both are, lol, but they're very unique names...especially for cats. ;)
