The Random Writings of Rachel: Are You Trying to Make Me Angry?

Are You Trying to Make Me Angry?

I was mad. Very mad. No one would listen to me, nearly everyone was ignoring the seriousness of the situation.

It all started when Rebekah brought the polar bear into the house. Yes, a real live polar bear. She was so happy to have found a new "friend" that she failed realize what might be the consequences of bringing a huge predator into the house. Sarah and MaryGrace seemed to love the polar bear too, and Angel was nowhere to be found. Only Mom and Dad recognized the seriousness of the situation and immediately began working on calmly luring the bear out of the house.

Rebekah, the one responsible for bringing a polar bear inside the house.
I left to assess the situation outdoors, but was dismayed at what I saw. Polar bears were everywhere--all over the yard. And not only polar bears, either. Lizzy was out there, hugging a bunch of pandas and hanging out with some hyenas. I gestured to her violently from the window to come inside to safety (well, it would be safe once Mom and Dad finished luring the polar bear outside), she saw me, and ignored ny gesturing, preferring to hang out with her animal buddies. I was muttering under by breath: "This is JUST like her. Always wanting to be friends with animals--Lizzy, sure, you think they're cute now, but these bears could kill you. With one swipe of their claws they could mangle you. Don't make me run out there and drag you inside. You don't understand the situation. This is dangerous."

Lizzy. She just looks exactly like the type of person who WOULD hug pandas and pet hyenas, doesn't she?

With my sister outside, breaking my heart by continuing to put herself in harm's way by continuing to play with hyenas, pandas, and polar bears, I got even angrier when I realized what had caused this whole mess in the first place: There was food garbage all over my lawn. All of a sudden, I realized that my grandpa had decided to save money on garbage removal by disposing of all food waste--eggshells, potato peelings, chicken bones, wilted lettuce, in my YARD and this garbage had attracted all of these animals. What was wrong with these people?

At least Mom and Dad were on the side of sanity, even if no one else was. The polar bear was safely outdoors and away from us, and the little girls were safely playing with their dollhouse, but now my parents and I were conspiring about how to safely get outdoors and bring Lizzy inside whether she wanted to come or not. We knew we couldn't make any kind of ruckus and she'd have to go willingly or the animals might be incited to attack...

...And then I woke up. No wonder I feel tired in the morning after adventures like that all night.

Anyone else dream like this?

  1. Haha...no wonder! You have quite the exciting dreams! If they're like that every night you could easily write a book of them. So interesting...and entertaining! Glad everyone survived.

Dreaming of lions in the basement one night years ago and another time of applying for a job as a cashier and ending up saving the world by disassembling a nuclear bomb is the worst I get...

  11. What a dream! Sometimes I dream I'm doing parkour to escape from enemies, which leaves me exhausted in the morning. I wish I could do parkour in real life!

  12. Haha I have crazy, very vivid dreams like this too! People always ask me what I eat before bed. This was a good one!

  13. Bahaha...what did you eat before bed? I hear pizza's no good right before sleeping. ;)

Sounds like Alaska...garbage and bears everywhere. Just no hyenas or pandas and thankfully no polars on our island. ;)

  14. I have crazy vivid dreams every night. They make sense but they never make sense, if that makes sense. I once read that when you dream so vividly, you aren't sleeping as deeply - so that would probably explain the tiredness. Though I could have also dreamed I read that, too.

  15. Haha...I wish I could remember when I have dreams like this! My hubs will get a kick out of this.

  16. Nope! Not that I can remember. The remember the dreams that seem like they could be true and then get angry or upset with people who have no idea what they've done. :)

  19. Ha! I started reading this and skipped to the bottom knowing there must be some catch... I thought maybe you were were writing a short story? But a dream, I didn't see that coming. Nice one!

  20. Haha! Yes my dreams are so random and all over the place too! In fact, I had a dream the other night about oversized jungle animals in my backyard. They were climbing on the roof and it was VERY stressful. I've even had mornings where I wake up feeling less than rested because I feel like I was so active in my dreams all night! lol. Dreams have always been fascinating to me- I'd like to learn more about them one day!

  21. I have very vivid dreams. Most of them seem so real, and I usually remember them, too! I hate when I have bad dress though because they seem so real that I wake up all panicked! And then the good dreams I'm sad when I realize they were just a dream...but dreams sure do make for interesting stories! When polar bears and hyenas live in the same place and it's not the zoo, you know you're not of this world! :)

  22. I had an adventurous dream that woke me up to my husband's snoring and then I was all over - I can't get back to sleep with all that sawing going on laying next to me. LOL. #sitssharefest

  23. Gaahh, good thing it wasn't real!! I was thinking of polar bears and hyenas like what the heck are they doing in your lawn?! Hope you have a good sleep and rest after this Rachel! :)

  24. Hilarious! And yes, my dreams get just as nutty, sometimes dirty, sometimes plain scary. Once I had a dream and it actually happened later - but don't worry. I wont be opening up the psychic shop anytime soon :)

  25. All I could think was, "I want a polar bear! Why do they get a polar bear?!". Hahaha!

  26. You know, I was reading this and felt a little bit suspicious about how true this was... POLAR BEARS, THOUGH! Those would seem like a terrifying sight to see in your front yard. I usually have freaky dreams about weird animals that want to eat or kill me. Fun stuff, right?

  27. Maybe just a baby polar bear would be okay?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow, what a dream! I've had a couple dreams like that. In the most recent one I was the nanny for Prince William's baby...bizarre.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It wasn't until I got to the part about the pandas and hyenas that I realized this wasn't a true story. I actually fell for it until that point dangit. #gullible. What a dream!

  30. HA! You got me! I was reading this like...wait, a polar bear in the house?!?!

  31. Oh heck yeah, I dream like this. Vivid, intense details. I typically only remember my dreams if I'm getting enough sleep, and as last week was my spring break, I dreamt three vivid dreams:
One - I had lost the use of my legs, and was going to need a wheelchair for the rest of my life. It was a very sobering dream.
Two - I visited an adult ropes course/jungle gym/play area (I've dreamt about the place before), where I became a super awesome skateboarder.
Three - I was hanging out with Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith - the three actors who play the three most recent Doctors from Doctor Who. I had traveled back in time four years, and Matt Smith kept asking me about the time when he was on Doctor Who, as I had seen the episodes he hadn't acted in yet. :)

  33. My dreams always have elaborate fight scenes that I could never recreate in real life!

    ReplyDelete
  34. haha that is such a crazy dream! I love how the weirdest things happen in dreams yet it all seems so normal, until you make up and realise how silly it was! Pregnancy brings some crazy dreams with it - mostly scary nightmares sadly. But luckily, like most dreams the memories of them don't hang around long before I forget what they were all about :)

  35. I had a very similar dream when I was pregnant, but even when I'm not pregnant, I have all sorts of crazy dreams. I like to think of it as my brain watching TV while I'm asleep. Thanks for visiting my blog during the SITSSharefest
