Real Talk: How the New Ex-Pat Life is Going

Every once in a blue moon, I decide to vlog. This means that every once in a blue moon you all get to see that in real life I am very shifty-eyed, at least when talking to a computer.

Thanks for watching! I am, and forever will be, the one-take vlogger, which means umms and sideways glances are just part of the deal. And it perhaps doesn't seem normal for me to be "confessing" that I find myself thriving in this completely new environment. I am thriving, both Angel and I are, and I'm so grateful for that. I know that's not a universal experience for new ex-pats, but I'm so glad that we are precisely where we're at. This doesn't mean that there aren't very, very confusing moments when I'm searching for my pocket dictionary and moments when I hold my breath as I enter bathrooms the likes of which could not be imagined in the USA...but I can say easily that this is a very good life for us.

Your voice is so cute and sweet. I love listening to vlogs just to see if people talk how I imagine them to.

I am glad your health is for the better. It's amazing how a completely different atmosphere can make that big of an improvement!

Good for you & your husband on your new adventures!

I'm so glad you guys are thriving! Last night I spent about 30 minutes scrubbing my apartment and I honestly feel better (Type A problems). I'm growing to really, really like it here!

It was fun to hear your voice! :) It's pretty cool to watch how God brings about opportunities and situations to help us become the people we need to be. Glad it's going so well! Oh, and p.s. digestional issues *ahem* worry me everytime I have traveled and usually do cause some problems. So, I hear ya. :) I hope your health stays stable!

Glad you are enjoying China. I am enjoying reading your blog. I know what you mean about the bathroom issues - I've read stuff about Chinese bathrooms that have discouraged me from EVER wanting to visit there. I get that the American system of plumbing is wasteful and impractical, but I don't understand why they can't find a simple solution that is more sanitary. Here is the US, you'd probably be arrested if you kept a pet in such nasty conditions - it's very puzzling. #SITSSharefest

How nice it is to hear your voice and really *see* you :)

It's wonderful that you are acclimating to China so quickly and with much ease. Even better, you have a love to share it all with!!
