Wearing Dresses in Winter

Lizzy here is modeling eShakti's Moto Style Ponte Dress in Baked Apple (Currently out of stock). eShakti provided this dress as a sample for review, I was not otherwise compensated for this blog post.

If you've been reading my blog for any length of time, you know I'm a die-hard eShakti fan. I love dresses with sleeves, and with eShakti, I'm spoiled for choice, as they provide all the sleeved dresses I could ask for! Also, because I live in a (mostly) tropical climate, I love that they offer so many dresses made out of 100% breathable cotton (when it's 90 degrees and you're in a small classroom with 50 teenagers and there's no air conditioning...you do not want to be encased in synthetic material, let me assure you!).

Just take a peek at this, this, and this if you want to see what I wear to teach on a regular basis!

Lizzy, the queen of layering, is showing off how eShakti dresses can be perfectly comfortable even in the midst of wintry weather, as well. eShakti makes customization easy, and if there's anything I like, it's the ability to wear clothes that are unique. When picking out this dress, I chose to shorten the sleeves and the skirt from the original design. I wanted to remove the pockets, because I, unlike everyone else in the world, don't like pockets in dresses, but Lizzy likes them, so the pockets stayed.

What do you think of the way Lizzy styled this dress? Have you purchased from eShakti before? If you haven't, but you want to, email me, I may have a referral code so that you can get $30 off your first purchase!

On another note, is there anyone who agrees with me on a preference for pocket-less dresses?

Just found out about eShakti and it sounds really interesting. This dress looks fantastic on Lizzy :) And I definitely agree on pocket-less dresses!

I like having pockets on a dress, but it's not a deal breaker. This dress is very cute and flattering! :)

I like pockets as long as they're not bulky and are discrete within the dress. :) I LOVE dresses all year long - whether winter or spring, they're always in season! Have a great one Rachel -Iva

I like the way she styled it! I have another friend who is wearing dresses right now despite the cold and I'm always impressed! I'm such a wuss when it comes to the cold, haha!

LOL pockets are just a thing that are convenient for me if they're there in winter since I can put my hands in them, but otherwise I think they're fairly useless. If you put something in one, it weighs your dress down unevenly, and we just can't have that. Ha! Anyway, I love how she styled this--dresses in winter for life!

I love the dress! I wear skirt/dresses only and eShakti is my #1 place to shop for modest clothes.

Oh my goodness I am such a fangirl for eShakti dresses. They're just so nicely-made and well-fitting! I do like pockets provided they don't cause a skirt to bulk out at the hips...

The dress in this post is totally gorgeous! I'd add it to my wishlist if it were still sold...

your sister looks like a model <3 also, such a pretty dress choice - easy for strolling or working or just-about-whatever.

I think pockets in a dress can mess up the line of the skirt, but if done correctly I really appreciate having them there. I love eShakti because I am short and I have a hard time finding dressed, skirts, and pants that fit me properly. I think that dress look awesome with the scarf and there's no reason not to wear it in the winter!

Very chic dress, and it's so cool that you got to review it with a free sample! Thanks for sharing at the Retro Re-Pin Party. Pinned.

You don't like pockets in your dresses? Oh many, it's literally one of my favorite things when I find a dress with pockets I can slip my chapstick and a phone in and don't have to worry about a purse.

Oh I'm all about the pockets! And that dress suits her well. My first eshakti dress didn't do much for me so I've sent it back and another one is on the way (it's modal so i have higher hopes). I hope I have good things to say! I too want sleeved dresses for wearing to work and the ability to submit custom measurements is ideal.

I could go either way about pockets on dresses. I think it depends on the dress and the occasion.
