I'm sure all the fashion experts would tell say that a classy LBD can be perfect for nearly any woman as well as nearly any occasion. All you need are the right accessories. For this woman, on this occasion, those accessories are:
Floral headband: purchased at H&M in ShenZhen, China. I'm usually a stickler for hard headbands but I decided to give this stretchy one a try.
Earrings: handmade, back when I had a big box full of crafting supplies.
Necklace: vintage, one of my great-grandmother's
Overly-large turquoise bow*: handmade, back when I had a sewing machine. (Have you ever noticed that this turquoise bow is actually part of my blog design? If you click on the turquoise bow in my header, it takes you to all of my "fashion" posts).
Brass bangle: from Cambodia, but not from this month's trip. Dad brought it back from a trip when I was in high school
Polka-dot Keds: purchased in Michigan, after I walked past the shoe store several times and longed for these lovelies every time I saw them in the window.
Red Hibiscus*: found on the ground next to the street. Also, coincidentally, iconic enough to be a part of my blog design. It's the national flower of Malaysia, so if you click on the hibiscus in my header, you are sent over to all of my Malaysia posts.
And THAT's how you use an LBD as the cornerstone upon which to build a rainbow-hued outfit.
*Maybe I should have titled this post "Wearing my blog design"

I love the addition of the bow!
I lovelovelove that shade of blue! <3 It's such a pretty pop of color with your dress too! Hibiscuses are one of my favorite flowers--I had no idea that it was Malaysia's national flower! :]! I like how your outfit reflects your blog design! :P

Love the way you styled your LBD!
I love that you have accessories that match your blog design, so fun!
Haha! I had to laugh at your "wearing my blog design" line. I don't blame you. Turquoise seems to be your color! You look lovely in this dress and I love how you've picked accessories that complement the dress as well as your personality. So cute.
All those details really make it a "Rachel" outfit.

Your LBD is still beautiful and classy, just in a very YOU fashion!
Haha I did think the color palate look familiar! ;-) I love wearing sneakers with dresses.
