{Last Year's Birthday Dress}
Still, it's my last couple of months in the first quarter-century of my life--might as well use them well, if not wisely.
1. Travel to a country I've never been to before (hopefully that will be easy, since the Japan trip's already planned).
2. Eat churros. (5/21 at the Alley with Angel and Anna)
3. Go on a dinner date.
4. Write 2 more devotionals for QWC's monthly devo ebooks . (6/15 Wrote and submitted 2 devos for July's ebook)
5. Exercise regularly.
6. Go hiking. (Macritchie Nature Trail, 6/22)
7. Find a bridge I've never walked across before and walk across it. If you didn't know, bridges, any bridges, of any size or shape, are some of my favorite things in the whole world. (Palawan Beach Bridge, 6/23)
8. Make an awesome Youtube video.
9. Read 10 books.
- read "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman (5/18)
- read "The Penderwicks" by Jeanne Birdsall (5/21)
- read "Why Is This Night Different From All Other Nights?" by Lemony Snicket (5/22)
- read "The Tiger Rising" by Kate Dicamillo (5/29)
- read "Interesting Times" by Terry Pratchett (6/1)
- read "Jurassic Park" by Michael Crichton (6/8)
- read "Where Angels Fear to Tread" by E.M. Forster (6/11)
- read "Nothing to Fear" by Jackie French Koller (6/12)
- read "Mort" by Terry Pratchett (6/20)
10. Write some fiction - vignette, short story, etc. Wrote "Leave You Alone" (6/2)
11. Go to Singapore. (6/22-6/25)
12. Cross-stitch something new. Check it out on my instagram
13. Go swimming (my apartment complex has a pool and I think I've gone swimming twice in the last year because I am not a fan of changing clothes) (5/30)
14. Write a goofy blog post.
15. Listen to Rich Mullins or Fernando Ortega while getting ready in the morning, at least 5 times. I like starting my day with good, peace-filled music...but that doesn't usually translate to actually remembering to turn on a playlist on my computer. Check (5/18). Check (5/20). Check (5/29). Check (6/13)
16. Do at least two fancy hairstyles on sisters. Chignon on Anna (5/29). Triple twist on Anna (6/6).
17. Go on a church retreat. Check (6/10-6/12)
18. Go somewhere in my city I've never been before. Chinese Town Hall (5/29). Clan Jetties (6/13).
19. Receive a birthday card.
20. Not forget our 6th engagement anniversary on July...1st or 2nd...I have to ask my Dad I know it's in his calendar for some reason (it counts as 'not forgetting' as long as I actually remember the anniversary during the day that it happened. Bonus points if I tell Angel "Hey, you proposed to me 6 years ago today!")
21. Go out for breakfast with sister Anna. (5/20, at SAB)
22. Swing-dance. With my husband as a first choice, but other partners are fun, too.
23. Have a guest stay in my home. (6/8)
24. Try out a currently unknown recipe. Made churros with Anna (5/27) Made red bean dal from scratch (6/6)
25. Be content--or, if content's too easy, be overwhelmingly, earth-shakingly, thankful and joyful--with what I have and haven't achieved/accomplished/experienced in this first quarter century. These years have included a lot of good I've never expected, and other expectations have proved more elusive--either way, "Thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul."

Got any recommendations of a recipe I absolutely must try? :)

I have two years until I'm 25, and I too have a big ol' list of things I'd like to achieve before then. :o Travelling to Paris is my number one.
This is a great list - a combination of easy somewhat and harder to achieve goals. Good luck in completing as many as you can!
PS happy early birthday!
Christie's Take on Life. xx
Love this list! I turn 25 next year and I'm already thinking I need to start a list of things I want to do before then! Great list :)
Sounds like you have a lot of travel planned, should be fun completing all of that! Reading and being joyful and great ideas as well!
The last one. Perfect.
Sounds like your list is reasonable.
I've noticed that the older you get the more you need to squeeze into each year. I'm turning 50 in a few weeks and there is no way I'm writing out a list of 50 things before I turn 50. I guess that is because we are closer to death and need to fit in more while we still can. The one main thing I want to do this year is go on safari in Africa. Financially it hasn't worked out to be there for my birthday, but I'm not giving up on getting over there before I turn 51.
bisous

I'll be happy to send you a birthday card!
What a fun list, though I hope #2 doesn't mean you've NEVER had a churro. That would be devastating.
I would love to send you a bday card! How exciting! I am turning twenty-five in three months, and I just can hardly believe it. Even now, I had to stop and double-check that I really was that age. Ha ha! On my Birthday last year I worked an 11 hour shift, and really did not do much to celebrate, and so this year I am already scheming about what I want to do on my bday. My birthday also happens to be the anniversary of the day my hubs proposed. So that makes it easier to remember. It does soften the blow of turning 25 that my hubby is 33. Isn't it nice marrying someone older than you? We will always feel young!!
AW loved reading these! Some of my favorites...going swimming. Isn't it funny how we ADORED swimming as a child, and now as an adult it's kind of just a pain!!! lol. Swing dancing! Always wanted to try it!!! Such a fun post to read. Happy early birthday :)
Love this list! I would also love to go to Singapore. I have three years until I turn 25 but I feel like I need to start making a list now haha!

Such a great list! I turned 25 last year and I felt so old! You should definitely make a YouTube video, I just started my YouTube channel last week and I'm having so much fun filming and editing... And I'm so jealous that you're going to Japan, I would love to go there one day!

so many awesome, fun things to do! If you haven't tried it yet, broccoli soup is delicious :) the kind you steam and add a small amount of cheese to. so good! and anything with cilantro or avocado, in my opinion :P
Cool list.Lots of fun things on there. Going to Singapore is on my bucket list. My hubby has been and raves about it. I love #18: go somewhere in the city you've never been before. I live in a tourist city and have not checked out half of the awesome activities they have here. I've lived here for over 10 years, lol. Definitely ready to knock that one off my list.
Happy early birthday!!! I seriously need to do #5 A LOT more!!!

Suzanne, that is such a neat idea-I'm sure a safari in Africa would be an amazing experience. Hopefully you get there soon!
This is such a great list! #13 made me smile-I have similar sentiments. The swimming pool at our apartment complex is literally a hop, skip, and jump away, I can see it from our window! But, it always seems like so much work to change into a swimsuit, and then shower off all the chlorine after swimming and get changed back into my "regular" clothes. I think I went swimming all of 3 times last summer haha.
Rich Mullins reminds me of my dad, so whenever I'm feeling sentimental, I listen to him! My dad sounds nothing like Rich Mullins, he just loves the man. And I'll stay in your home! It's only like what. . . an 18 hour flight to Malaysia?
Cute post and happy early birthday! I am such a fan of these lists - I did a 25 before 25 and then now I'm working on my 30 before 30. Good luck finishing yours :)

So many fun things to do! :)
These are so fun!
What a fun list! I love making lists like this and have done so for a few of my birthdays. I'm turning 23 in July - the best month to have a birthday! ;) I have never traveled outside of the U.S. but it is definitely on my bucket list.
Love this list! I love that you want to read more books - I feel like everyone is so against reading so every time I see someone say they want to read more, I'm like YAS! Happy (early) Birthday!

Sounds like a great list! I love that you involve your family in so much that you do. That's so cool and it's awesome seeing the sweet bond y'all have.
Such a wonderful list-you go girl!
This sounds like a really great list and everything on there is totally do-able. It sounds like you're going to have a really great few months.
This is a wonderful list! Churros are the best... and hiking is too! Thank you for sharing, I hope you get those marked off!
I love lists like this! It is so fun to think about all the little things or big things you want to do. This is my last year in my 20s (yuck), so I have a list going on some fun stuff I wanna do :)
Churros! Yum! You must try churros! Good luck with your list!
I love these type of list and yours sounds extra amazing! Going to Japan has always been on my list so I'm excited to see your posts about it!
Great list! I hope you're able to cross a lot of these off before your birthday :)
That devotional site you write looks amazing, never heard of them before! If you do the fancy hairstyles on your sisters, grab some pics...whenever I see things like that it seriously is like an art form to me!
Paleo Chocolate Chip cookies from Ambitious Kitchen!
Whoa, what a milestone! 25 is definitely a big birthday--I really admire your goals. I especially love the one about crossing a bridge (almost symbolic!), writing a goofy blog posts (I love those), and trying a new recipe. I highly recommend this vegan banana bread: http://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/banana-bread-eggless-vegan-recipe/
I've made it for friends who aren't vegan, and they love it! It's also nice to only have a handful of easily-attainable ingredients.
Wishing you the absolute best in the last couple months as 24. It's funny how quickly time passes--I'll be joining you in the twenties in only a couple weeks!
imperfect idealist
Great list! Let's hope you're able to accomplish each and every one!!! <3
Oh wow! You must have a birthday pretty close to mine. (I'll be 22 on July 22nd.) Loved reading your list. I'm with you on bridges being awesome! For a while I contemplated starting a bridge link-up, but decided it would be too much work! I often make end-of-year and counting-down-to-birthday lists, but I hadn't thought to yet for this birthday! I better get started on a list of my own. Really enjoyed reading yours! Enjoy your last couple months of being 24!
