{Totally non-trivia related, but also a fun thing to do when you have time: use ALL the glue and ALL the glitter and make a giant glittery mess outside. It's fabulous}
I started thinking about my strongest areas of trivial knowledge. If I had my ideal trivia game, there would be questions in these categories:
Mandarin Chinese
Confucius
Gilligan's Island
Once Upon a Time
Star Wars
Malaysian Geography
USA Geography
Disney Theme Parks
East Asian History
Grammar/Punctuation/Capitalization rules
Definitions of Obscure English Words
Color Theory
Hair/Skin/Nail Care
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Mark Twain and other Authors of the 1800s-1960s.
The Bible
Country Music
Sure, I don't know everything about these topics, and there are people who know a lot more, but I've got a good head for storing random facts and I could definitely hold my own in such a specifically-designed game with this awesome combo of categories.
The opposite of my ideal trivia game, the one I would utterly fail in, would have these categories:
Football
Olympics
Sports in General
European Geography
European Languages
Inventors
Fashion Designers
Pop/Rap/Classical Music and Composers
Movie Directors
South America
Australia
Animals
Now there's a business idea. Someone out there should invent a custom-made trivia game where you get to pick and choose the categories you want to include. What categories would you shine in if playing your perfect game of trivia?
hahaha, this is a fun one, and really makes me wonder--I feel like I'm pretty terrible at trivia, so I'm not sure what I'd be good at, but...I'd probably go with anatomy, medical terminology, classical music + composers, anything to do with spelling/grammar, and Cantonese slang? :D?
I would definitely do well in the tv and movie categories.
I enjoy playing a trivia game called Super Quiz with my siblings an evening or two every week. Fortunately (for me) the sports section has a few questions about chess in it...otherwise I can get pretty lost.
I guess my top categories would be U.S. history, Presidents and First Ladies, chess, Bible, and grammar.
I have an uncanny knowledge of Disney movies. My now 24yr old baby had everyone ever made thanks to hand-me downs and adding on the newer ones. We watched them everyday, so much so that some days they watched us....lol I didn't realize that they stuck with me. I still love Disney and Pixar to this day!
I am quite good at anything Disney, Harry Potter, TV or Film related, music related (from 80s to early 2000's probably), and some history haha. I would fail at anything related to sports. I always fail at those!
This would be a terrific game! I would do well in history, art, geography. Please don't ask me any sports questions!
I really like trivia games, not quite sure what I'm best at. Maybe a little of everything.
Ha ha! My husband and I are the same when we play. I know all the Pop culture answers and he knows all the history, geography or anything else intellectual.
My best topics would probably be art, fashion and pop culture. I seem shallow now : (

Oh this is such a fun idea. I used to do trivia in college with friends and I was always everybody's "phone-a-friend" option for anything Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Game of Thrones-related. I've seen a few specific trivia games (I played one recently that was about the TV show Friends).

whoa i would absolutely want you on my trivia team - hot dang that's a great list of things you actually want to be asked! my friends got married over the weekend and they had a trivia game about their relationships/upbringing/and preferences it was grand!
I think you would totally school me at trivial pursuit. How about we be on the same team??? ;-)
That's an awesome business idea! I'd totally buy a trivia game full of categories that I know all about! :)
Im awful at trivia, but it doesn't stop me from trying. I tend to do best on science questions, fashion questions, and those about Disney movies!
Trivia is not my speciality at all... but I guess I'd go with maybe Bible/Church History and Home related info.
I'm awesome at trivia... I'd be kickass at music, movies, song lyrics, TV shows, etc. My husband and I even won trivia on our cruise ship. It was U.S. History trivia!
Mandarin Chinese!? That's incredible! I would fail at nearly all of these ;)
You know what? That would be an awesome product - it could be a DVD game where you just choose your categories on the menu. That would be great. I always feel like such a dummy when I play Trivial Pursuit and that might help!
a custom trivia game could be fun because some people would pick categories they are good at but some people would pick categories they know their opponent is bad at! Nothing like some good old fashioned sabotage in the name of competition!
This is fun and at the same time hard ^ ^
I guess I'll be good in Fashion Designers category ^ ^
